A Message from Superintendent Nora Gutierrez Dear Tolleson Union High School District Community, As we enter the month of May, we look at closing out the 2020–2021 school year. Never in our nation’s history have we experienced in education what we lived through this past year. It was unprecedented. Through it all, we persevered. I am proud that we worked together to ensure the health and safety of students, staff, and their families. Our students adapted. Our teachers and staff adapted. You adapted. And in the end, with safety protocols and mitigations in place, we were able to provide students the option to return to our campuses for face-to-face, in-person instruction or remain online. We are truly grateful for that. Thank you all for your patience and trust as we continue to work together on providing the best educational experience that we can offer. It has been wonderful to have our students back on campuses. It is heartwarming hearing the students talking and laughing with their friends. Let’s remain focused on student academic achievement this final month of the 2020–2021 school year. We look forward to celebrating our seniors this month as they graduate and move on to college, career, and life. Graduating seniors and their parents/guardians should have received information directly from their schools, but here is some information regarding graduation. Please note that all graduation plans are dependent on the COVID-19 metrics. Graduation is Monday, May 24, 2021. The ceremony will be different from past years with masks and social distancing required, as we continue to follow CDC guidelines in collaboration with State Farm Stadium. Graduating seniors and their parents/guardians should refer to the letter that your school sent for specific details.
